Say it ain't so. I had a feeling this was coming, but thought it may slip through unsigned.
I guess it is time to contact your state senator to encourage a vote when override time comes in September. I think there are enough votes in the House, but the Senate was within one or two from a 2/3 majority.
I guess he wants to end his political career in MO, as there are plenty of democrats in this state that wanted ccw to pass.

I just faxed Governor Holden this morning, asking him again to sign the bill. We'll find out tomorrow for sure.

The Senate is where it will be really tight coming up with a veto override. The House passed by a wide margin.

Does your state law provide that after a bill has sat so long on the governor's desk it automatically becomes law? That is, unless he affirmatively vetoes it, it becomes law?

It may be a way for him to not "sign on" to the bill, yet not veto it.

That's how spineless governors can pander to both sides and allow them to argue out of both sides of their mouth. :barf:

Keep us posted.

Yes the Governor had 45 days to act on the bill before it would automatically become law, but today he is going to veto it.

Been checking the various Alphabet Soup Websites, but no updates yet. Anybody know if The Gov vetoed CCW bill?

I'm with you foghornl. I have looked every consievable place I can think of and can't document this at all. This sitehttp://www.state.mo.us/has todays bills that were acted on. There was no mention of action in Holdens press releases. Can't confirm this by any method.

Oh yeah, it's a done deal. It was on the radio here in Columbia. I am waiting to hear how many 'supporters' of the veto actually showed up.

What a {unspeakable words of contempt} scumbag Holden is.

Hmmm maybe time to take a page from the California folks working to recall Red "Gray-Out" Davis.

Gov Holden:
"My People!
You are deemed unworthy in my eyes to carry mean scarry guns out of your homes for the protection of yourselves and your loved ones!
But dont worry, I am safely guarded by men who can use 17 round magazines and automatic weapons - payed for by your tax dollars!
Thanks!"
