I'm shooting my cast .40 cal bullets/boolits, and I'm just about done with my case of WSF. I'm relatively new and don't know a whole lot about powder selection. . . any suggestions?

To elaborate, I've been having a hard time finding loads for 175 gr cast lead, so if any of you have a good recipe that works, I'm all ears.

I use Alliant Power Pistol in my .40 S&W. It will yield some hot loads if you want them.

Longshot is nothing short of magical in the .40S&W case. :p

WSF is a very good powder for .40 S&W. Universal Clays and AA#5 are also very good. True Blue should be as well, but I have not tried it in the .40 yet.

Titegroup. Try a pound; you won't regret it. Clean, accurate all day, and not position sensitive.

HP-38 for the light stuff and Power Pistol for the flash bang boom stuff.

I am thinking of trying Titegroup next. I shoot Hornady's lead bullets (in 45 LC), which may be soft swaged. I thought I remembered someone saying that Titegroup was not a good choice for cast lead bullets, because it burns at a particularly hot temperature. Is that bogus or real?
