I just took delivery of a Marlin 1894 'Cowboy'
in .45 Colt. It has a 20 inch Bbl. with button rifling.
Initial impressions:
SMoother, much more linear action than a friend's
Win. 1894 .30-30
Also it seems less nose heavy than the Win. - is that
related to the octagon barrel.?
I will probably get a rubber pad installe on the
buttsock to lengthen the L.O.P. for my 36 inch sleeves
I need to get some ammo to break it in - WHat's a
good base popular make/bullet wt/type?
