Congratulations; we need more citizens to make the decision to take personal responsibility for their own and their loved ones well being and safety. Be safe.
And practice practice practice!

Zundfolge: Nope, sorry.
El Tejon: Marion county at the moment. But I go to Purdue University and spend most of the year there.
I'll have my Beretta there but sadly won't be able to shoot .40 at pistol club. Looking into getting the .22LR conversion kit from Beretta. Are there any other options?

Dan -
Heck yeah we are!! Have you gotten any airsoft gear yet? I've still only got the Beretta cause I've been saving for a real Beretta. Maybe next semester sometime I'll get something else.
As for the carry gear I've been thinking about a Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster. I've heard some very good things about it but I'd definately like to try an IWB before I spend that much money on anything. Any help with that kind of thing would be greatly appreciated as I've never conceal carried anything before.
I will definately take El Tejon up on his offer to go shooting at Wildcat, I've been wanting an opportunity to go over and check the place out.

Thrash1982, isn't the Beretta 96FS a little large to carry 24/7/365? I am a big guy and I carry either a Kahr K40 or E9 in warm weather. I carry a S&W Model 457 in the cold. Go to a range and rent several handguns, see how they feel, how they choose the one that is best for you and your life style. I own several 1911s etc. and good carry rigs and I seldom carry them due to the weight. Regards, Richard:D

Richard, not necessarily. A good holster and belt make all the difference. I carry a 1911 daily, no problems.
The solution lies in software, not hardware.:)

Thrash- I don't have my Airsoft yet but I do have something even better, money! :D So I'll probably order mine when the Fall semester starts. The VMII is an excellent holster, I would recommend that or the Executive Companion. It is IMPERATIVE that you buy a matching gun belt. It will make a world of difference with a full size gun. Whenever you and El T hit the range, give me a hollar.

El Tejon, should I upgrade my equipment? I have a Walton 1 ½” belt, Milt Sparks Summer Special, or a Ken L. Nill Vern Humphrey Holster (VHH). I still notice the weight of a 1911A1 when I carry it all day. I wear these IWB holsters strong side at 3:00 o’clock. Where am I going wrong that I find it easier to carry a Kahr K40? Regards, Richard:D

Richard, perhaps you are confusing the comfort provided by the heft of your pistol with discomfort??? :D

Way to go!
However, if you're like most people you'll probably be happer with a more compact weapon for CCW. The 92 is big around, long, tall, and heavy; plus it only fires a 9mm.

Congrat's Thrash .. as said, welcome to the club. Be safe, practice and train ..... still in hopes however of never ever needing as will be the case for most.
Carry with pride but remember that awesome responsibility .... and where possible make ''carry'' ..... mean ''carry'' ... not just now and again!:)

Hey congrats thrash carry and be safe, also the beretta is a fine weapon indeed I carry a 92fs myself often. I conceal it in a cheapie uncle mikes nylon IWB holster some may laugh (at this holster) but it works very well for me at about 4:00. My general thoughts are this gun is a fine weapon as i've said already but it doesn't need any more bulk added to it.
That being said the uncle mikes rig holds it very nicely in place with a decent belt and adds almost no bulk to the gun. I've tried good leather rigs for this pistol and have found for me that they increase bulk to much, however kydex may be another option for you to check out. congrats again and stay safe.
