Several years ago I purchased 3 frames from Cornwall Bridge Gunshop - a Beals .44 w/barrel, a NMA and a Whitney Navy conversion w/cylinder. Object being to build them up as wallhangers/decorators. I've found some parts but am looking for more - original or replica. I would like to find a hammer and loading lever for the Beals. The NMA frame is apparently a Navy/.36 model (S/N 30XXX) (a ..44 barrel I got frome Dixie doesn't fit but a .36 barrel screws right in). My big problem is finding a hammer that will fit (the replica hammer I got from Dixie works fine in the Beals, but won't fit in the NM frame). Can anyone point me to a source(s) for the pieces (original or replica) I need? I don't know if the .44 hammer can be slimmed down to work; I would prefer to avoid the expense of having a hammer custom made. Any thoughts, comments and/or suggestions willbw greatly appreciated.
I am a new arrival on this site, and have already learned a lot ffrom reviewing the various postings. Thanks.

Try these folks. their Remy parts fit originals except the screws, and I found that the hand screw did fit, but your mileage may vary as the man says,

Call them and talk to Phil, he's a good guy and will steer you right.

Most, if not all of the so-called Remington Navy models being made today are based on the .44 frame, with a shorter barrel and chambered in .36 caliber. The original Navy was built on a slightly smaller frame, which is probably the reason the replica hammers won't fit your frame. There is such an organization as The Remington Arms Collectors Association (not necessarily the exactly correct name) and if you could locate them someone would probably help you.

The Remington Society is one and there is a Remy Forum
www.SCORRS.org should be to get some help there as well.
