I need to get a decent optic for it. While I know I could spend thousands of dollars for a super special forces night vision 2-1,300x180 something or other, I am really looking for a decent optic below a thousand bucks.

I recently bought an IOR Valdada fro my FAL that I am very impressed with and I am considering a some of their options. http://www.valdada.com/vn/ior/03

I am looking for something with a ranging reticle (like the MP8 reticle on the IOR) or even a Mil-Dot.... and perhaps something that I can get calibrated dial for a .308...

Anyone have an good experience with a moderately priced scope?

Thanks in advance.
Cameron

I really like the IOR Valdada line, too, especially for the price. Sure, you could go Nightforce or US Optics, and they're great, but they're also really, really expensive.

Besides IOR Valdada, I really like the Leupold and Burris lines for a combination of high quality and good value. Burris makes a really nice 3-12x50mm illuminated mil-dot as part of its XTR series, and street price is around $750-800 bucks, as I recall. You can even get it in olive drab to match your stock, if you care about that kind of thing.

Leupold Mark IV tactical series, mil-dot reticle.

I would go IOR again if you're happy. My next scoped rifle will wear one if I have the left over cash

another vote for IOR. especially with the mp-8 reticle.

Congrats on the new PBR!

Here is a pic of my PBR rifle. I love it, 20" barrel great shooting rifle. Mine is topped with a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x50mm scope. I have no complaints with it.
