I just joined.

Is it appropriate to post gun-related newspaper columns at this site? I mean an occasional column, not 10/day.

About half of my postings are from newspaper articles.

Someone (Preacherman?) awhile back posted some guidelines to avoid copyright infringement. Basically, attempt to include the name of the paper, a link back to it and a copyright notice if possible.

Most of my posts are columns I've found because, well, I really don't have much interesting to say.:o

But seriously (?), I like to post the articles, usually without comment, to see all of the different directions people here will take them with their comments. I'm never disappointed.:)

To answer your question: we welcome posting of newspaper articles, etc. on this board, but we would appreciate it if you would please do the following:

1. Cite the publication or name of Web site where you found it:

2. Include a URL to any online source:

3. Please post the full text of the article if the source is someplace that requires registration before viewing (e.g. the New York Times). Many of us don't want to register all over the place, so if you copy the full text to your post, it saves us that hassle.

Also, please include the date and author of the article in question.

If you want examples of this, please check out some of my posts in this forum (use the Search function, and enter my username and designate Legal & Political as the forum). You'll see plenty of them!
