Greetings all,
My father in law has a beautiful shotgun that was probably made in the 1900's. It has all matchings number 222156. It is side by side double barrell and is side by side. It was made by Hartford Firearms. I was told at a gun show that I could probably research it through an NRA database. Anyone an NRA member and can point me in the right direction?
Thanks :banghead:

Q: I have a firearm, could you please tell me all about it, including its value?
A: The NRA provides technical service to its members only. This service is the NRA Dope Bag. Send your written questions to the NRA Dope Bag at:
The American Rifleman
11250 Waples Mill Road
Fairfax, VA 22030
Be sure to include your member number in the top right-hand corner and a self-addressed stamped envelope. The appropriate research will be conducted and your questions will be answered in writing. The NRA does not give firearms values, because the NRA could be held liable if an incorrect estimate were made.
Mail a description to the above address if you're a member.

You might go to this site and ask. Lots of knowledgeable shotgunners here.

Hartford Firearms was a "house brand" used by Crescent Fire Arms. According to BB #27 a 90% 12 gauge is worth $200.

Another idea: join the NRA yourself! You'll be doing yourself and the shooting fraternity in general a great favor. In rereading your post, it seems that you may already be an NRA member so I'll use this opportunity to encourage all shooters/gun owners who aren't current members to join and for current members to help recruit new members. We live in treacherous times as a free people.
