Polished Nickel

Saw a new magazine with a nice polished nickel finish 1911. Yes, I want a nickel plated sissy pistol as Tommy Lee Jones said so nicely in U.S. Marshalls. But what are some of the options for autoloaders? I've seen a few revolvers, but not much else. Point me in some directions!

If you are going for mirror polished, hard chrome is better. It won't scratch nearly as easily as nickel would.

Strongly agree - harder finish and about the same price.

Yes, but hard chrome is such a cold finish compared to the warmth of a nice nickel job. Even a good, polished hard chrome job can look like a bumper under artificial lighting; something nickel isn't prone to do.

I have a number of nickel Smiths and Flitz keeps them looking like new.

I agree with Tamara about the look of Nickel. I had a Colt Compact (1991) finished in polished Hard Chrome a few yrs.. ago. Looked good but not as good as Nickel. Another downside on that particular gun was with a 24lb. recoil spring and new slippery finish on cocking serrations, it was a hellofa thing to load. I put pearlized grips on and sold it.

If there's a 1911 sytle pistol in .45 that looks like the .38 Super Springfield?
