What accuracy can be expected of a factory original Ruger 77(scope and trigger job can be added) at 100yds (not including heavy barrel models or customized guns).

Mine (.223 all weather ultralight) grouped well out of the box (scope and trigger job, actually but you need them).

4 out of 5 shots would group in an inch

However, every time, the second round fired would be a flier, 1"-1.5" to the right. Every time.

So I floated the barrel yesterday and today shot one group with it, .55" at 100m

i get just under an inch with mine, and my brother gets just over 1.25 at best
i've got a 300 mag, his is a 7mag
