Weeks ago i started a thead re grips for a M617.A number of you came up with some good ideas.I went with Taurus Ribber grips and really like them.I can't remember the member that suggested them, thanks again. My problem was with the sales/service dept.First they did not send the screw to attach them.I called and was told they would send it out, that was over a month ago, still do not have that order.I did find a woman willing to actually do some work and did send it. >>>>I won't bore youwith all the details except the gave me the wrong cost when i called, the seemed to have a stock group of lies to tell when you call and just want to get rid of you. I will not do any more business them.

It's a different world in S. America--

They sleep half the day--take the entire summer off--(manufacturing)
Can't expect Cust Service--
Stick with US or European--

Years ago, I tested Taurus' lifetime warranty. They did a good job for me. To bad things have apparently changed :(

Very odd. I recently managed to lose the yoke screw for my Taurus 617S and they shipped me a replacement within 2 weeks, no charge. My only experience with their service dept. has been positive.

Yesterday I got a set of the original grips with a screw for the Ribber grip. This was also a note that was almost incoherent. This after I got the right screw weeeks ago. They must be on something there,I hope these are not people that work on the weapons.

Yes SENIOR MEMBER coldshot03/04, your "new member" comment is so helpful...

MY personal, first-hand experience is that Taurus' service is virtually non-existant. Does the fact that I'm a SENIOR MEMBER somehow make my experience more valid?

Get a grip.

I've had the chance to deal with Taurus' field reps and that was a great experience. I even talked to him about the apparent customer service issues within their company and he told me that they were working on that and that overall things are improving. I've never actually dealt with the normal customer service dept so I don't have any experience with them. I've definitely heard mixed reactions from those that have though. Sorry about your troubles, I've always been a fan of Taurus guns. I hope they get it together soon.

I ordered a grip screw and bushing for my PT92, and you can read all about my ordeal with a simple search. The short story is Taurus' Customer Service is almost non-existent, and my PT92 is history.
