Anyone have knowledge of this issue? Could this be the last
of the cheap military surplus.

Where do gun rumors come from anyways?

I haven't heard this rumor, but I imagine there are a lot of Mosins stored in warehouses throughout the former USSR countries waiting patiently for a new owner and a second chance at life. The Soviets had largely abandoned the Mosin by the later years of WWII and issued most of their soldiers PPSh-41 submachine guns. The Mosins were stored away in warehouses and most are probably still there.

The problem isn't getting the rifles, its getting the ammo. I think if there was a big shipment of ammo coming in, someone like Dstorm911 might know about it, but he hasn't chimed in about anything like this...
