I might be going to Bill Goodman's Gun show soon, and I'd like to know how much those sweet Swiss rifles go for at guns shows. Like, what's a good deal, what's about average, and what's a rip-off. Keep in mind I don't care about looks...I just want a shooter.

Good...I was hoping it'd be under $200. The prices for these rifles are going up, which is part of why I wanna get my hands on one. Any Ohioans here with K31s who can tell me how much they paid?

The last time I was on AIM's website they had walnut-stocked K31s for about two hundred bucks. Saw a beech-stocked one at a local shop Monday for one sixty-nine. Decent shape. Get one now, and some GP11 while you're at it.

150.00 - 180.00 in Indiana. 149.00 at Dunhams sporting goods , if you have one near you?.

They will go up! I remember when the Swedish Mausers were about the same or cheaper and all said "wouldn't pay that" now $400 + all surplus runs out. Better grab one now they will be gone soon.

That's the idea. I want to grab one before the prices shoot up to $300 or something. At AIM surplus, they're selling GP11 ammo for $4.95/box of 10. Is that fair?

Since you're going to a gun show you might get lucky with a great deal. I ran across one at a gun show for $125 last year.

That's what I'm hoping for. Last time I was at the gun show, I got a laminated stock, excellent condition Mosin M44 for $91. Not a smokin' deal, mind you, but an alright one.

That's a pretty good price on a lammy M44. I bought one at AIM a month or so ago for eighty bucks. So, for a show that's pretty good. Depending upon how much GP11 you're going to buy Wideners may be a little cheaper. I've been buying some Partisan 7.5 so I have some brass for the future. It's good stuff, but GP11 is the real deal for a K31.

Wideners? Never heard of 'em. And I probably won't buy much as I'm a low-volume shooter, and don't have a lot of money to spend. Link?

Makes me wish I had bought a case of them when they were $79 at AIM instead of only getting 3.

I bought my first one a a gun show about 3 years ago for 139. It was so good and hidden under the dirt and scratches was a fantastic piece of flame walnut.

Needless to say it sparked my interest so I got my C&R and quickly bought 5 more (makes two stacks) Those I shopped on internet dealers and got pretty good ones, although not as pretty as the first, but only paid 69-79 ea and this was two years ago.

Now I am seeing prices from some of the better internet dealers entering the $400 range, so if you find one for less than 200 grab it. The stock will probably look horrible, this is normal, look for decent metal, magazine and bolt serial number should match the receiver. Bores are generally good as the Swiss never used corrosive ammo, but it won't hurt to look.

Of all the mil surps out there they are my favorite. It does not hurt that they are one of the most accurate. I also got an older 1911 Schmidt Rubin long rifle and recently shot a 1.25" group at 100 yards . I'm hoping that I can duplicate that the next time I take it out.

About five months ago I picked one up for $150 at a Columbus show.

Awesome. I'm shooting for $150 or less here. Realistically, I might have to go as high as $180 or so, but I hope not.

If you go to the Swiss Rifle Forum, you'll see an ad from FGS at the top of the page. K-31 rifles for $124! FGS seems to have an excellent reputation among Swiss rifle fans.

Get a few while you can. There are very few, if any, good K-31s left to be surplused.
