I have a CZ-75 compact in 9mm and have been thinking about getting a kadet .22 conversion kit for it. On the CZ site, the comment on this kit states "some fitting may be required". I went to the CZ forum and various people talked about various problems such as 'being too tight' or having to 'file the lugs'. It seemed to me that no two people had the same problems. Anyone ever had to fit one of these kits?...and how difficult is it to do?..or should I just forget about it all together? Keep in mind that I have zero smithing skills.

I bought a Kadet kit to use with one of my three P-01's. It fit two with no fitting, the third would need minor fitting. Gunsmith probably wouldn't charge $20.00 to do this.

It's super easy. The manual has instructions on how to do it.

The slide lug is oversized where it fits between the two blocks on the frame. There is a bump that is left on the lug to ensure a tight fit. I brought the gun I was going to use the kit on to the shop, Newington gun Exchange, and the salesman filed the bump down with a small hand file untill it would fit. He filed a little then tried it, then filed more.

He said that because the fit was tight between the frame and the barrel section that accuaracy was good. I like my kadet lots. It always goes to the range with me for inexpensive practice.
