Bennelli misfires?

I'm getting an occasional light firing pin strike with my 13-year-old Super 90. I 'm not sure I've EVER broken down the bolt/firing pin for a thorough cleaning. You suppose that, as can happen after extensive firing with a Glock or 1911, that it might just be some grit around the firing pin?
Since the Super 90 has been absolutely reliable since I've owned it, I can't allow this to continue. I'm planning to break it all down and do a serious cleaning one day here very soon. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

Never cleaned the bolt in 13 years ??? Shame on you. It isn't difficult at all to take it apart. When I got mine the HK gunsmith said at least 50% of guns returned because the wouldn't work only required a cleaning. Benellis are great but the y like to be clean like any gun.

Yeah, I'm a bad boy when it comes to cleaning shotguns. I break down my Glocks, Colt SAAs, and rifles completely ever so often and clean down to the last screw.
I've been so spoiled by shotguns just being so simple and always working that I tend to just clean the bore, spray them down, and stick them back in the safe.
Guess it's time for the old Super 90. It's such a great gun, and I've been a neglectful custodian! :-(

Isn't that the truth. Modern autoloading shotguns are so darn good they spoil us and give us unreal expectations of our other guns.......
