16ga Wingmaster question

I tried a few searches, but didn't see this question asked before. I've got a old 16ga Wingmaster 870 that has had the barrel crudely cut and rechoked. Could I replace it with a 2 3/4 12ga barrel, or would I have to find another 16ga barrel? Thanks

if I'm remembering correctly, the 16 ga models were built on 12 ga frames, but you'd have to replace the magazine tube as well I would imagine (although with remmy they may have been 12 ga tubes as well actually)

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for a serviceable(cheap) 12ga barrel.

i checked and was told you WOULD need to change the tube, and the tubes are soldered on with a wingmaster, so you'd need a torch probably to remove it.

I guess I'll just shoot it as is, then. Thanks for the follow-up.
