I am looking at getting getting new 223 dies.
I am looking at RCBS with a cripm die or a Lee Pacesetter set which includes the crimp die. The price is about the same so is one better then the other. I will be using them in a Dillon RL550B.
Thanks

RCBS IMO. If you are loading for a bolt or single shot the crimp isn`t needed nor IMO wanted if neck tension is good.

Mostly I will be shooting the reloads out of an AR.

I use the Lee dies #90502 which includes a factory crimp die for my AR. The collet dies are for a bolt gun. Don't know about the Dillon compatibility.

RCBS is a good choice. I never crimp 223 Rem for autos or bolts.

I use Redding full length dies with a carbide expander and a taper crimp. I also use a head space gauge to make sure i don't
move the case shoulder back too far

Ditto the Highlander, but RCBS makes good stuff as well. I have had more bad Redding dies than RCBS even though I have bought more RCBS dies. Forster rifle dies are very good. I have sets in .22 Hornet, .222 & .222 Mag as well. I like them a lot.

I use the RCBS Xdie for sizing. A Redding seating die, and the Lee Military crimper.

I would go with the RCBS dies make sure you get a small base die set. These are for autoloaders. RCBS is a good company and they will fix it if anything goes wrong.
I have a 60 year old RCBS powder measure. It sat in a box for a few years and was rusted together you could get no movement out of it at all. I called and told them I was the third owner and it had been passed down threw my family so I would prefer it be fixed and not replaced. They said they could not garuntee that but they would do there best to return it. I sent it off it got there in 3 days and was returned to me in 4 days. totaly rebuilt with a new hopper and guts. It works as good today as it did when it was brand new.
I myself have started to switch to Hornady dies for my rifles. There new dimension custom grade dies to the stuff. I really love the fact that the seater has a sliding part that aligns the bullet and case extreamly well before seating the bullet.
I have never used lee dies but i know plenty of guys out there that swear by them. I will stick to RCBS and Hornady.

I use the Lee Pacesetter dies for loading my 223. I shoot them for a RRA AR 15 and they shoot great. I have never used RCBS dies but I am sure they are good also. I haven't seen a need for a small base die.
