I've been looking for a nice M1 carbine for the past year. Finally found one that fit the bill:
Rock-Ola, early features, non-import.
Sent the money, and was obviously excited when the gun showed up on my doorstep yesterday.
Opened the package and began to unwrap the gun, from the barrel end. Saw the Rock-Ola stamp on the barrel and was smiling until I saw a huge Blue Sky stamp on the side. I was furious.
How could the guy have told me it was a non-import when the stamp was practically glowing on the barrel? How could he have not seen it?
I continued to unwrap the gun a little further and saw a bayo lug. Hmmm.. This was supposed to be an early feature gun. How could it have a bayo lug? Got to the rear sight, which was adjustable. It was supposed to have a flip sight. Now I'm thinking that he must have sent the wrong gun.
Phoned him up and discussed it. He was horrified. It was indeed the wrong gun. In all the thousands of guns he's shipped, this has never happened before. He was very apologetic, and said he would cover the shipping cost.
My biggest concern was that he had shipped My Rock-Ola to someone else, who would want to keep it.
Thankfully he still had the gun. Now I have to wait until the long weekend is over to ship this one back and get mine.
