I found a Benchmade 710 with 154cm and one with D2. Which is better?
Keep in mind that I'm not experienced in sharpening knives. At this point, when I need my knives sharpened I just use ceramic sticks.

Ether one is good I have both the 154cm is more stain resistant and easier to sharpen. D2 will hold an edge for a longer time. You can't go wrong with a Benchmade 710

cereedy,

Do you have any trouble opening the 710 with the thumb stud? I can't seem to get my thumb in there to use it. The stud is right against the scales. I know I can use the axis lock to open and close it or I can use a version of the Brownie Pop. My concern is that in the heat of the moment, I won't be able to deploy the blade with the thumb stud.

RF23, I don't get it. In your other posting as well as above, you state that you have trouble using the thumb stud to open this knife. If this is the case, how could you possibly want a folding knife that you cannot easily open?

If you like the function of the axis-lock (I certainly do), why not look into the other available Benchmade knives which also have axis-locks? You might be able to find a design that will work better for you.

It makes no sense if you are looking to buy this as an EDC. Don't get it because others like it, get something that fits your hands.
