Recall for Governor Davis of California?

Well, it looks like it might happen, and what a wonderful thing it would be.
Even better (for the rest of the US anyway) is the fact that Senator Dianne Feinstein may want the job.
Governor Feinstein sounds so much better to the rest of the country than Senator Feinstein!

Governor Feinswine would just appoint a lackey to be US Senator. She might even appoint her daughter who have never had a private sector job in her life!!!

There is no way Feinstein will give up her senate seat. She has too much seniority to waste on being California governor. Running her name up the flagpole is a way to unite California voters of that persuasion. She wields far morre power in the senate that being a governor anyway, besides she wouldn't be caught dead trying to straighten the budget mess out. Where she is at she can blame republican leadership.

'Cept there's one other lady who might jump in who could kick DiFi's butt:
Condi Rice.

A doubt it will ever make it to an actual recall/election. Once Davis knows he is history, his final gesture will be to resign and let the democratic Lt. governor become governor.

I predict Red Davis will resign rather than face a recall election. The only question is whether the Democratic (sic) party can stall the election until next spring.

Condi won't announce until very late. She might have to be dragged in kicking and screaming...but if she does come in, Ahnuld is TERMINATED :D.

Okay, for a while I have been worried that DiFi would run for governor if Davis was recalled, so I didn't even want to recall Davis. However, Bruce H is right, I think. RECALL DAVIS NOW! Besides, even if she does become governor, at least she won't have as much of an affect on nationwide legislation.

Davis won't resign - his ego it too huge. Besides, it may already be to late for him to resign. The law says that once the recall is filed, should the officer being recalled resign, the election goes on anway. Whoever fills his position until the recall then steps down when the recall election determines who is the new governor, assuming the answer to question #1 on the ballot is Yes, recall the bum.
Of course, the confusing part is when is the recall filed. Is it when the petition is filed, or when there are enough verified signatures to qualify the question for the ballot? Not sure. The recall organizers say that they have around a million signatures now (they need a little under 900,000), they have turned in several hundred thousand, and expect to receive another couple of hundred thousand in the next two weeks. I mailed in the remainder of my petitions (with signatures) on Thursday.
It looks very likely that the Recall will make the ballot. The next question becomes when the election is held. Will Davis and his minions try to hold it up in court? Will the Sec. of State, Kevin Shelley, try to delay the election until the presidential primary is held in March, which would bring more Democrats to the polls? Whatever happens, it's going to be very entertaining to watch.

Davis will fight it all the way or go down fighting.
Gotta rally the Gray Panthers (Senior Citizens) who were really hit hard by the increase in their energy bills. When you're on a fixed income, it hurts.
Who else has Gray Davis stepped over? Rally 'em!
