Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting an OWB holster for my S&W model 60 J-frame revolver. I posted this on the S&W Forums and over on glocktalk, but didn't get much feedback. I'm interested in a Blackhawk Speed Classic Holster and would like to know if anyone here has used this holster and if they could provide some feedback on this specific holster.

Anyone have any experience with these holsters? Do they hold your revolver securely? how does it ride on your hip? How does it conceal? It looks like a nice thin holster, but one of the belt loops is located on the back of the holster body, so that might add some width to the holster while it rides on the belt...

Thanks in advance!

IrvJr - I have a speed classic. It's the best concealment OWB holster I have found for the J frames. They are very secure and belt loop configuration is not an issue. My original report is here:

Thanks for the feedback and link to your review. I saw one of these holsters the other day when I was visiting a gun store in Maine (Kittery Trading Post). The store had a left handed model (I'm right handed) in the package and it looked like a nice, slim design. However, I didn't get a chance to examine the holster closely since I had my 2 year old son with me and he was pulling all of the packages off the racks in the store and running around the aisles!

I think I'm going to order a Speed Classic. I have an IWB holster on order from a custom holster maker, but that's going to take a while before it's delivered. I think I can get a Speed Classic more quickly.

Thanks again for the great review!
