Anyone here familiar with the Malta area of eastern Montana? Is it good deer/antelope hunting? What's the small game hunting like? Secondly, any info on the economy, employment ,weather, etc would also be appreciated. Thanks

The hunting there is good. Tons of deer and antelope. You have to apply for an Antelope permit while deer you buy over then counter. The Missouri Breaks is south of Malta and there is thousands of acres of BLM land out there. If small game is your thing. Then buy lots of ammo. It may take some driving or asking around but alot of ranchers and farmers will let you hunt small game to help control the numbers for them. As for the economy thats a tough one. The big thing there is agriculture and not much else. The hunting and recreation in Eastern Mt should keep you busy all year long. I am originally from Mt and spent the last year living in Glasgow Mt. Good luck.
