I bought a new/used Glock 17C 9MM (ported) about a month ago, I am very pleased with it so far, shoots great.

I also shoot a Browning Hi Power, they are totally different for feel but both are comfortsble and easy to shoot.

So I am shooting 6 shot groups at 7 to 8yds, two hands standing, having trouble getting a 4" group.

BHP I can get a 2" group at this distance.

A guy 2 targets over (outdoor 25yd range) comes over and tells me I am shooting wrong that I am letting off on the trigger and I shouldn't be... so he shows me the the hold and reset method on the trigger and that helps a little but still not better than 4" groups.

So I offer the gun to this fellow with a 6 round mag and ask him to give it a try...He proceeds to take deliberate aim and slow fires all six rounds into one ragged hole.....!

We move back to the 10yd and I give him another mag of 6 and he proceeds to do the same one hole group only a little larger hole......!

Impresses the crap out of me, I ask for some basic sighting instruction and he helps me out quite a bit, for sure I have absolutely no doubt about the Glock's potential for one hole groups.....

Turns out he is a prison correctional officer and handgun instructor as well as a Bullseye competitor.

I still shoot the BHP a little better but I am becoming more familar with my Glock 17...BTW he says the porting does eleminate some barrel flip, he liked it.

Good story and you're very fortunate to encounter a seasoned shooter.

Did you analyze his technique to mimic?

I bet he just has a nice steady shooting form.
