I have been using a Wheeler drill and tap fixture for the last 6 years.
This tool on a drill press is much easier than dialing in on a milling machine.
I have modified the fixture so that it can do the shortie 1903 Turkish Mausers.
Those mods are to:
1) grind on one of the big bushings so the assmbly can get up close to the front ring.
2) cut a clearance hole in a plate for the high charging hump on a 1903 Turk.
