i just got an accurizing kit for my ruger

and after all the trials and tribulations of getting all those little parts and springs and pins back in the right places and everthing working like its supposed to, i come to what i expect to be the easy part

the trigger mainspring

ever change one of these?:what:

i see no possible way a mere mortal can get that put back together

and of course, after enough times of keeping a close eye on where the detent ball flew off to, i finally missed it and,,,wellll,,, you know the rest of that story

and the instructions specifically warned me to NOT LOSE THE DETENT BALL

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cuss:

anyhow, i'm thinking theres either a trick or a tool to perform this task

anyone out there know what it is???

and could you send your spare detent balls to...

:D

If you are talking about the "reduced power mainspring", I'd strongly suggest you just put that spring aside. To change the mainspring requires you to take apart the mainspring housing by driving those "staked" pins out. In addition, here is the note about those mainsprings from Bill at On Target:
Note* The reduced power mainspring will reduce the force of the hammer as it strikes the firing pin, possibly causing light hits on the round. If you have any problems with light hits, I recommend putting the factory mainspring back in.

I've only heard of one person who changed the spring and he ended up putting the factory spring back in
