I never have replace a grip but I bought one for my taurus 627 revolver. It came in today and I try to replace it but I couldn't get the *&^%$^% screw to line up so I had to leave the old one in. Any ideas? Or I just gonna have to go to a gunsmith? by the way the grip is a Hogue, black, rubber.

Is there a certain way to do it? Or just luck to get it aligned. I'm a newbie replacing grips, any help will be appreciate it.

Shine a flashlight down that hole in the bottom. Then flex the rubber grip whichever way you need to to line it up. Had to do the same thing with my 817 and hogue grip. No big deal, took about 5 mins.
