Here's something a friend of mine told me:

Some paintball club owner (an Israeli one, AFAIK) pitted a Special Force unit versus a bunch of Quake players/CS players. The Quake people won.

I know the are pretty visious in the Donkey Basketball games.

I only played paint ball a a couple of dozen times in the army, we did it during sgt's time on thursdays. My infantry squad almost always beat the "proffesional" paintball teams. My only conclussion on that was is that the members of the "proffesional teams" where out for individual glory, doing anything so that they did not get hit. Where 7-7 is built around getting the enemy. In short we were more team players.

Because firearms aren't like paintguns. There's more differences than similarities, really.

The balls-out rushes you can often (sometimes need to) pull off in paintball would most likely be suicidal on the battlefield.

That's not to mention whether the two teams were similarly equipped. Rental guns are notorious for not being able to hit the broad side of a barn, assuming they even shoot reliably. A $100 loaner paintgun isn't even in the same ballpark with a tricked out $1500 Autococker or Angel.
