Stout loads for an 1187

I just picked up a Special Purpose 1187 and took it to the range yesterday to break her in. Overall, I'm very impressed and happy with the girl except for one thing: it's reliability is not quite what I'd be content with. On a few occasions the shells were getting caught on extraction. I'd heard that the 1187s definately preferred hotter loads, so I'm wondering if some rounds with more power would do the trick.
What loads have you found to work best in this gun? Have any of you found problems like this, and if so what have you done to fix it?

Shoot 500 or more rounds through it and get back to us. They need broken in more than heavier shells, both that I had would shoot any cheap crap I ever tried in them with decent reliability when clean and lubed properly.

My friend's well-used, 1187 shot as well as a Vang-comped remmy at a recent shoot, he feeds it on a steady diet of Federal reduced-recoil loads without a hitch.
Suggest you fire several hundred rounds to smooth it out and keep it very clean. Gas guns can be finicky if dirty.

Run a case or two through it.
I'll wager the usual flagon of mead that it'll be running like a well oiled machine.
I'd view the glitches you've having now as great opportunities to practice clearance drills. Make the most of them!
