Bought 10 boxes at Academy today for 2 somthing a box.
Anyway my smooth bore with 4x is pretty good to 100 and I would say great at 50. It is currently sighted in with green Remington Fosters. I only use it for pigs usually less than 50 but if I saw one at 100 I think I could lob one in.
Gonna shoot the Brennekes this week but was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.
Only concern so far is I just noticed on the box: Protect from moisture. If exposed to moisture or humidity dispose of properly.
I live in East Texas. It is practicaly a jungle for 9 months of the year. Can these slugs handle the weather?

The 1 oz KOs have been my round of choice for about 6 years. A string of MD deer could attest to their performance.
Dunno about hogs, but for thin skinned stuff they're great.
50 rounds are a decent start. Buy plenty more of the same lot.

I have been shooting 1 oz KO slugs for about a year and they are as good as most other slugs but at a better price. Shot them out of a NEF single shot break-open, Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 without a problem.

Go to your closest army surplus store or the like and buy a .30 or .50 steel ammo can to store your ammo in. Make sure the rubber seal around the lid is good and you won't have to worry about moisture. A .50 can will hold close to 200 rounds in 5-round boxes.
KOs are great slugs and a great value as well. They have been consistent good performers out of every shotgun I have fired them in, and I quit looking for any other slug- don't need anything better here. My last order was for 3 cases, 50 boxes to the case- but they were on sale for $1.75 per box of five and cheaper still by the case, and I had heard that Brenneke USA was shopping the contract for loading them around Europe, since Kent wasn't going to be loading them any more here in the USA. I have had bad experiences before with a favorite load getting yanked out from under me by changes in the industry, and I wanted to lay in a supply of Kent/Brenneke KOs while I still could.
See if you can tell from your boxes what company loaded your KOs- I'd like to know what company is putting them out now.

Brennekke "KO" slugs were second-best in MY Maverick 88, only a fraction behind the PMC brand.
Now, though PMC ammo is closed, so when I buy a messa slugs again, it will be the KO's.
