roo_ster August 26, 2007, 05:00 PM The two most common are IMR/H/A4350 and RL15. NuJudge August 26, 2007, 05:10 PM I don't shoot mine as much as I did 25 years ago, but those are the two powders I've used most in the past. I always liked the 235gr bullet (because it is only 235 grains), as well as the 300 Sierra Boat Tail because of its excellent ballistic properties. I also shot a lot of the Hornady 270gr flat base, because they were cheap(er). If I were going to be buying components today, I would probably buy Nosler Partitions. IMR 4064 is more accurate in my experience, IMR 4350 gives you a bit more velocity. Worked fine. I cannot remember the powder charge, but my recollection was that one pound goes very quickly. tkendrick August 26, 2007, 05:25 PM Win760 GunTech August 26, 2007, 07:35 PM Ramshot Hunter and Big Game do well, as does W760. My personal favorite is VV N550. 4320 and 4895 are also great, but I typically like heavy bullets. Accordiing to QuickLoad, W760 and Ramshot Hunter should give the best velocity with a given pressure Sunray August 26, 2007, 10:54 PM Please shut off your caps lock. Your manual should have data. Midway, et al has brass. Midway wants $42.99 per 100 for Remington brass. Grumulkin August 27, 2007, 06:59 AM I think the best powder for the 375 H&H Magnum is probably RL-15. At 100 yards off the bench shooting 3 shot groups, I get about 1.5 inch groups with Hornady 300 gr. BTSP bullets and less than 1 inch groups with Hornady 300 gr. FMJ round nose bullets. Another thing about the 375 H&H Magnum; the cases tend to stretch a lot and early. Be sure to check the case length and trim as needed. Also, run a paper clip with the tip bent down the inside of the case to detect the groove that starts before head separation. Hutch August 27, 2007, 11:05 PM Well, you specified full-tilt-and-boogie, and 300gr bullets. Sooooo... My biggest grin-getter was a 72gr of H4895 behind a Speer 235. Probably ~ 2600, not too unpleasant. Never shot it at game, but it would really shoot tight groups ~ 3/4" at 100. I bet it would mow down any deer and most elk. def4pos8 August 30, 2007, 10:09 PM I found that 64 grains of IMR 4064 worked best under a 300 Sierra Game King. That recipe did well on a 500+lb boar in Belgium. Winchester 760 gave up a smidge of velocity and accuracy, but not enough to become excited - - - and was MUCH easier to meter. ;)
