receiver marking question

I know this was discussed in another thread but I need to make sure I have it right.I have a chance to buy a gun advertised as police.Has short forearm and looks parkerized.I know of express,police,wingmaster but this receiver is marked"remington 870 magnum"only.What category would this gun be in?Looks brand new so what would be average price?I gathered from the other thread that it would be closer to a wingmaster.Thanks in advance and sorry to bring up a topic that was already ran through,just want to make sure what I might be buying.
