Does any American ammo company make a 9MM Nato round equal in ballistics to the military round? Thanks, Byron

If you keep an eye on the Shotgun News ads, you will often see American made (usually Federal or Winchester) 9mm NATO surplus from contract overruns.

I'm not really sure what you're asking, but 9mm NATO has ballistics similar to most 9mm+P if that answers your question.

If you just want cheap FMJ available in the USA, Fiocchi's 9mm FMJ is similiar to NATO specs.

S&B, Fiocchi (if its made in italy, not usa) and others are.
+P is basically an equivalent to nato specs......in most manufacturers here in the states...........

OMB Police Supply (http://store.yahoo.com/omb-ps/q4nat9mmam.html) sells Winchester #4318 124 gr. NATO spec for $6.99/50.

I've gone thru a few thousand rounds of it and really like it for over the counter inexpensive ball ammo for practice sessions with my P99s.

I've stopped reloading 9mmx19 now that I've found this. I throw the crimped brass away after I fire it. :D

Hirtenberger +p+ is the real thing.

Hirtenberger has loaded some 9mm +P+ that is dangerous to fire in pistols.

If that's what you're referring to then NO, it's not the real thing. It isn't NATO spec ammo, it is submachine gun ammo and far higher pressure than NATO spec.

Hirtenberger +p+ is the real thing.

Hirtenberger is NOT recommended for use in any pistols. It exceeds the pressures of real NATO pistol ammo.

Do a search on the SIG Forum (http://sigforum.com/6/ubb.x?a=cfrm&s=674608412) and you will find a lot of info about the Hertinberger ammo and why it should NOT be used in pistols.

I very much apprciate the help. Natchess will not deliver in TN,GA or AL do to dealers agreements. As soon as I figure out OMB site to order, I will contact them. Thanks Again, Byron
