I'm contemplating a Taurus 441 in 44 spl, stainless with a 3" barrel. Anyone have any experience with this model? Good, bad, indifferent? I've never owned a Taurus but I find this model/cal interesting for a carry weapon.

I have a 445 in 44 spl (bought used). Pulling my hair out - light strikes, one chamber keeps misfiring:cuss:. I have had similar problems with a 450 (45 LC) and a 606 (.357). All the same frame size, I think. I'm replacing the springs and selling it. I just never learn when it comes to Taurus - they're so dang pretty:banghead:

YMMV

Buy a S&W or Ruger. You can thank me later or post your Taurus sorrow if you go that route.

Thanks guys, Yes I'm a S&W fan, something on the order of 31 revolvers in the safe already. I was just contemplating the 44 spl but I think you talked me out of it. Now to find a S&W

I just bought a S&W 629 5". It's perfectly balanced. I thought the 6.5" was a little barrel heavy.

Have that model in blue, no problems, and extremely accurate. My experience with Taurus qc though is that it is spotty so 1 may be good, the next one off the line may not be.

Thanks Glockensigs: I visited the site, way too many negative comments for me to venture into a Taurus at this point in life, maybe when I was younger and foolish I would have tried one. Granted there are some good comments but it sure seems like a hit and miss situation with the mfg. I've been using Smiths' since before SEA and have never had an issue with them.
