I currently have my CCW in Indiana. Right now we can carry in 15 states according to www.packing.org. What other states do you have an out of state CCW in and what did you have to go through to get it. I'm trying to figure out what permit to apply for next that would benefit me most in being able to carry in as many states as possible.

I just sent in my renewal forms last week, I'm wondering how long it will take to get the permit.

My renewal took 3 weeks. If you work here we should go shooting some time. I was on glocktalk earlier and read this post saying that you can carry open in Indidana. Have you ever heard of that? If you ever want to go shooting, email me at brian0128@hotmail.com.

I work at the Cat dealer on Coliseum.

I marked the calendar to chart the time of my renewal arrival. I think the last time it took a couple of weeks. Indiana is pretty speedy.

We should hook up one of these days to shoot and gather some other like-thinking souls!

brian, the irony of Indiana law is that while we welcome the licenses of all other states and foreign countries very few states (or countries) recognize our licenses (sort of like our fed taxes--we pay and pay, but receive very little). Florida, which is recognized by 22 or 23 states, is very handy one.

According to the list Brian posted IN permits are accepted by all that accept permits.

As I looked through I saw IN on all of the states acceptance lists.

As far as the 5 or 6 states that do not issue permits, do they accept other states permits? Probably not but thought I'd ask anyway.

If they don't accept permits would someone with an out of state permit be treated the same as some criminal?

Jedi, Indiana recognizes any other state's or foreign country's license in Indiana. Only a few states recognize us.

Brian: You need to research your list again. I live in Nevada, and I'm sorry to say, Nevada will honor NO out of state CCW permit. Personally, I feel when one is issued a CCW from any state, that makes you one of the "good guys" and it should be honored by all states.

If there are mistakes then I apologize. I went to the license tool and clicked the one for all of United States. Indiana recognizes all other states but I think there are only 14-15 states that recoginze ours.

Just to clarify, The state on the left is the state that you live in. The list on the right are the states that honor this state's permits: So if you live in Nevada you can carry in the states listed.

I got my renewal on Thursday,10 July. I sent the application on 26 June.
