Got these from my cousin. He says these are bayonets actually given to the army and police forces in Iraq. since he actually was in iraq when he got them, I guess I believe him. They seem very cheaply made, although the steel is pretty good. The sheaths are horrible. Two slabs of leather, rivets and some thread.
The weird thing is, the long one is about 14" long just for the blade....

Those look like the Chinese knives that are sold by BUDK in this country and by many individuals and firms overseas who hope to make money off of Americans, who in a weak moment will buy something stamped AK-47 that resembles a bayonet and think they have a Commie (or in this case Iraqi) collectible.
To my knowledge, there is NO issue AK bayonet, from any country, that looks like that, especially bearing those markings.

True, but in fairness, he didn't say that they were AK bayonets ;)

Ummm, CCCP doesn't exist any more so they couldn't be issued to the current Iraqi police/military.:scrutiny:

That's why I thought these were kind of strange. I figured they were something imported from china or similar and sold to unsuspecting people. My cousin got them fro free from "a guy" so no idea if these are used or not.
Thought it was interesting that the 14" Bayo would look pretty wicked on an AK.

Just playing along, but Russia hasn't used the AK47 since there was a CCCP, any chance they are surplus dug up from somwhere then issued and not new production since they have AK47 and CCCP stamped on them?

Those are not AK bayonets, of any era.;)
They also didn't put CCCP on any weapons.

Right in one! Genuine tourist trinkets (http://www.theknifeauction.com/item.php?id=40836&PHPSESSID=a3845a58bb5e0474f55a6f7109aaca56). Considering that they're showing up on African, UK and Russian auction sites I'd guess China also.

Nope. The Russians never even had a bayonet with that sort of profile.

Note the markings and mfg'er on this one, and the sellers other stuff:

The first one of those that I saw being offered for sale, was by a eBayer in Beijing China.
Still, that does not undermine the fact that he obtained them while in Iraq, from a comrade, and the fact that even though they aren't military implements, they are still souveniers of his deployment.
