ebay listing - HOLY COW!

January 9, 2003, 12:46 AM
The seller was in fine form when he composed the description:

AMT Backup Magazine in .38 Super RARE! NEW! NEVER USED! The .38 Super was the rarest of the AMT back-up series. These magazines are hard to find, and no longer made. This is the standard magazine and holds the original capacity, either 6 or 7 rounds, not sure, but if you have a Back-up in .38 Super, you'll know. ATTENTION MISINFORMED AND MISGUIDED ANTI-GUN ZEALOTS: This magazine is a standard magazine and holds no more than 6 or 7 rounds. It is NOT high capacity, it's less than 10 rounds, so there is no need for Ebay staff to cancel the auction for that reason nor necessary for them to pander to morons that are so bored with their own life that they have no purpose but to sit at a computer all day and peruse Ebay looking for such "violations" just so they can report it to the EBay staff. Any questions, read the above. In any case, it is not illegal to sell high capacity magazines in 47 of the 50 states in this country, and in those 3 states where it is not allowed it has been proven consistently that the ban on the sales or ownership of high capacity magazines has not stopped any criminals from obtaining their fair share of high capacity magazines, let alone the guns that utilize such magazines. It is clear these states are pandering to a movement of fascist dictatorial ignorance, their leaders plodding through a meandering life bent on perpetuating lies and propaganda to the public by deciding what is best for everyone else based on their child-hood derision, passing ineffective laws designed merely to support misguided political campaigns funded by a sheltered elitist few, all harboring a hypocritical life behind the walls of gated communities, perennially fronted by armed security and private body-guards (usually sporting high-capacity magazines) while continually giving up their freedoms as they wince and cringe with irrational fear. Meanwhile, the only type of person that they have prevented from buying high capacity magazines is their next door neighbor who shoots at the local shooting range once a week and attends shooting competitions a few months out of the year. Little do they know that he has brought his evil guns into their sterile, cherished, gated, fascist community. And should their gates ever come down due to a tumultuous economic uprising or their home is invaded in a good old fashioned attack by the likes of Richard Ramirez or the Manson "family", those same neighbors will be whining for help from him and his guns, begging for support from his high capacity magazines. Given the chance they might be able to hear anything over the wale of their own home's burglar/911 alarm, given the possibility that they might be able to whimper for help between the pauses of their own screaming and horrifying cries for mercy as they are raped with blood rushing from every open orifice (and a few orifices that have been newly created), should they be given the chance to send a call for assistance while they watch their children mutilated in a worse fashion than their own, and if their gun-nut neighbor would hear their pleas, he will need to say "Sorry, I can't help you, I don't have those evil guns anymore because you banned them". But let's face it, high capacity or not, it only takes one bullet to kill someone, so what's the difference; high-capacity bans and campaign generated gun laws aimed to garner funds from a few rich gated communities, did nothing to stop the horror of the Maryland sniper, instead they merely prevented a law-abiding citizen from protecting him or herself against the sniper. Winning bidder to pay by Money Order, cashier's check or PayPal. I do NOT accept personal or business checks, I do NOT use Ebay check-out or Billpoint. Please contact me before sending funds. Will ship to continental United States only. Winning bidder to pay $5.00 for S/H and Insurance, by US Priority mail. If shipping by other methods preferred, cost may be more. Item is sold as-is. Have fun bidding, but be serious about your bid; I like to leave good feedback for good people! Thanks for looking.

You know, if a guy wanted to sell you his used car, and described it by going off at a tangent about how evil the people were who wanted to ban SUV's and other gas-guzzlers, wouldn't you suspect he was trying to divert your attention away from what he was trying to sell you??? Hmmmm...

January 9, 2003, 01:50 AM
Sounds to me like a guy who's fed up. I don't read anything past that.

That's a form called "screed"..........rambles and goes nowhere. Sad and funny at the same time.

Although I have no guns in .38 Super, I'd buy the magazine from him just to reward him!

WE like it because we agree with him... Just think what we'd be saying if it was some anti frothing off at the mouth about the mag he was selling...

Still it was funny. :p

I get a giggle everytime I see a M1 carbine mag or a Butler Creek high cap for a Ruger 10/22 on eBay and the description reads something like:
"Per eBay rules I am listing this as a ten round magazine".

Yep, I used to love buying 20rnd FAL mags on ebay. "These mags will hold 10 rnds". Sadly they've wandered up to around $10 each now on average and I can beat that elsewhere. Still tempting to buy them just to spite ebays rules.

Interesting way to get the RKBA message out there.

Purchased by "Norse Woman" for $15. Must be quite a woman!

January 9, 2003, 09:54 AM
ROTFLMAO!!! Wow! Guess who hasn't been getting any lately?

January 9, 2003, 09:57 AM
Looks like a cut and paste job... from this forum probably....

Good way to start the day. I agree with his Sentiment. :)

January 9, 2003, 10:29 AM
What was it he was selling???

January 9, 2003, 11:22 AM
Darn Fine Rant.

January 9, 2003, 11:29 AM
My favorite auction was for a pre ban drum magazine for an AK. The ad said that it looked like a drum magazine but was a special preban version that only held 10 rounds!

January 9, 2003, 07:00 PM
I'm not sure what in the heck he even said. But I think I know what he's getting at.

He wants to sell a magazine. Right? :D

Good Shooting

Why he doesn't use a different E-auction site, I'll never know.

SENT THIS TO THE AUTHOR/POSTER of the above auction:

I have to thank you for the single greatest moment of my 5 year eBay experience!
Your description and rant on the liberal blissninnies was SO dead-on, and so FUNNY at the same time I almost wet myself!

If you're not already one of us, I'd love to invite you over to www.thehighroad.com forum, to hang out with some like-minded gun folks!
Over there I'm known as Felonious Monk.

Once again, thank you SO much for keepin' the faith, speaking the truth, and not taking any BS!

Best Regards,

Definitely a sign of frustration, and I can only symphatize.

But he's got a good sense of humor, I'd give him that. :)

Truly THR quality! :D:D:D
