Here are a couple photos of the grips I had made by mr. Vu Kim son. He inlaid a maltese cross in the black bone grips made from white bone. They are wonderful. They fit tight and look great.

This guy does great work. It's good to see that someone in the world still does good solid craftsmanship.
My problem is that if I were to get a pair of grips, they would outshine my guns. Although, I should consider replacing the grips on my Ruger Redhawk. The factory ones fit poorly and are, in a word, crap.

Did not like the grips on the parkerized guns, and my other 1911s had magwells or were in other ways not... quite.... right....
So, I went out and found a nice stainless SW1911.... and I like it!

I personally have a hard time buying anything that says Vietnam on it.

Well, if you work hard at it and really try, you can overcome anything. Have you tried working with a psychologist and a therapist over this shortcoming?

That is a pretty ignorant attitude to have considering how globalized the economy has become. Hell, there are a lot of "foreign" cars these days that have more American parts and labor put in them than the "American" cars. Same goes for nearly every other sector.
I have grips from Kimson too. They are a heck of a lot nicer than anything I've seen any American make, especially at the prices he charges. If he is willing to make a better product AND charge less, he deserves my money more than anyone, American or otherwise.

I'm sure a lot of us still have strong feeling about Vietnam and that's perfectly ok.
Some might still have strong feelings about buying something made in Japan, Germany or even Iraq.
We can't blame the citizens of every country that we've had conflicts with forever.
I've seen a bunch of pictures of other grips that guy made. Outstanding work, and I've yet to hear a complaint about his business ethics.

This guy isn't Ho Chi Minh. Kim Son is a great guy and a great craftsman. He was born in Vietnam. So what? I could buy a German BMW... but maybe a WWII would be upset...
I don't like BMWs however.
