I can shoot my 627 S&W without moon clips right? It is the 8-shot PC gun.
Thanks

No problem.

It will shoot just fine. But unless you get lucky and the spent cases fall out from gravity alone, you will have to poke them out with a pencil or something. ;)

Only if it's the rare .38 Super model. The .357 Magnum versions, despite being cut for moonclips, have enough extractor area left that they'll eject cartridges without difficutly.

Depends on which one you have. Mine is a 627-0 and it only shoots W/O moon clips.
The PC versions are different.

A 627PC will be machined to accept the clips, but will also fire and eject rounds without them.

Headspacing is provided by the rim around the outside. Ejector works as normal.

So, if I recall correctly from an offering in Brownelll's offers a
7 capacity full moon clip for a 686P which requires a cut in the cylinder?
If so, would the modified 686P also have the capability of extracting
the .357 Mag. rounds like the 627 PC ???

If done correctly, yes. Check out www.moonclips.com for more information and links to gunsmiths that'll perform the work. You need only ship your cylinder.
