I've got a Bora knife that was brought back from Desert Storm. It is very similar to this one. My handles are black, the knife says custom handmade on it.

I have written Bora several emails in the past and they have never responded.

Can anyone tell me about Bora quality? I've wondered for years just what I have. The person who gave it to me said that a whole unit ordered these knives in the engraved versions, that one of the guys ordered a plain extra and he got it.

I know that I really like the knife and have used the heck out of it. Would love to have some more info.

Looks like a nice Bowie pattern! I like it! I know nothing about them but have heard of Bora knives. I'll ask and look around.

Looks like an established Turkish company using 440C for the blades and a lot of handwork in production.

Is this what you have?http://www.boraknives.com.tr/rsm/urun/48_00.jpg

mine has all black handles and a slightly larger lanyard hole. I will try to get some pics of it and post them.

This is my knife. On the side shown it says , "SPECIAL DESIGN HANDMADE T.M."

The other side says only "BORA STAINLESS STEEL"

There is nothing besides the writing, no logo or anything.

I didn't realize it at first but mine is about 1" shorter than the one whose pic I first posted.
