Howdy. Got a bud who's long in the tooth and worse for wear.

Been hunting 50 years or more and now diabetic, shoulder probs, eyes going south, etc. He can only comfortably shoot a .410 these days. Also loves Mossbergs.

So, I have a line on an early 500 in .410 persuasion that's stupid-clean. I'd also like to mount a scope on it for him but I don't want to wreck its future value by getting it D&T'd.

Been diggin' and googlin' and runnin' searches but I can't come up with a non-drill scope mount for the .410ga. 500.

Any thoughts from anybody?

Thanks very much in advance. Hunting's always been this guy's life and it would be godawful for him to have to stop while he can still get around some.

If it has a rib on it, one of these http://secure.armorholdings.com/b-square/uni_mounts.html might work.
Otherwise, I'd go ahead and have it drilled/tapped for a scope mount. If it makes the difference whether he could still hunt some or not, it would be well worth it. It is just a shotgun.
