My dog - Elwood - at the gun range.

We took my Golden Retriever, Elwood, out to the range over the weekend. Apparently he was a bit jumpy everytime we'd start shooting. So while I was shooting, my buddy's wife put her ear protection on him. He sat in the back of the truck for the next half hour wearing the things - happy as could be. Just thought I'd share the amusing pics.

Its pretty amazing that he'll let them on. I couldn't see either of my dogs letting earmuffs on.

Since he tolerates human muffs, how about just getting him his own set of muffs?

Is that a Sig? Looks more like an M&P 45 to me. At least from this angle. Nice dog :) It's sometimes amazing what a dog will put up with if it means they're more comfortable.

It's not an M&P, I realize. M&P's don't have the screwed on grip panels. My mistake. Easy to make if you look a the take-down lever and the back of the slide.

It is even more amazing what a dog will put up with to be near their human.

My wife insists on putting those freaking reindeer antlers on my Lab every Christmas.

That's so cool. My dog can count up to five but anything after that and she gets confused.

I'm suprised that so many people shoot around their pets and don't think about their hearing considering they hear so much better than us.

There is a dog at KCR and going by the artillery that they fire there I'm sure that dog can't hear anything but a constant ringing in the ears.

The holster is a Desanti I believe, and that is for my Sig 226. Wish is it was at 210! :-)
