Any owners? What do you think of 'em?

I shoot a CZ SP-01, what type of competition were you looking for? IPSC? And what division.

I have an SP-01 as well. Real nice shooter. Me and the trigger have a love-hate relationship. When I'm real good, it's real good. When I'm not perfect, it is unforgiving. For me it's an issue of LOP combined with the shape of the trigger. That's what has me looking at the Champion model. That and I like to take apart my weapons and doing so with the SP-01 tactical (decock) is a PITA. For the expense/time of making the gun into a single-action, I might as well spend the bucks on the Champion.
I shoot in a local league, but may get into IPSC or similiar later on.
According to the website, the Champion is for IPSC open division.
I'd probably say if I get into IPSC, it would be production division with the 75 SA.

Even if you decided you wanted a Champion they are very difficult to find. CZUSA and Angus did not have them when I inquired and could not get them for whatever reason.
Second they don't do major very well as it would break a lot of slide stops. It's a much better minor gun in 9mm. I guess you could do 40 but you would be disadvantage with capacity vrs the other major 9 and 38 supers.
Third the CZ75 SA would put you in limited. If you were shooting 9 you would be shooting minor and if you were shooting 40 you would most likely be shooting lim10 as even with basepads I don't know if you could get 16+1
Again this is all based on if your intention was to shoot uspsa/ipsc. For you local leage would have it's own criteria
My buddy made a SP01 9 minor open gun by adding a SA trigger and a Cmore Dot sight. He's pretty happy with it as he shoots uspsa just for fun and mostly shoots steel matches where there is no power factor.
You can see him shooting near the end of this video

Thanks folks :)
Limited sounds cool I think.
As long as I'm shooting 9x19 out of a bottom feeder with iron sights and a nice trigger I'll be happy.
I'm on dial-up, but I'll try and grab that vid when I get a chance.
Thanks for the link.
Maybe later I'll get into the big leagues, for now I'm just playing local action games. The one I'm in now has no restrictions or classes.
I really like the looks of the 75 Champion :D

the 9mm champions are all but impossible to find..
if you do find a champion it is most likely the .40 version..
the 75SA is super neat gun..as is the a tricked over SP01

I've had four CZ-75s: BD, SA, SP-01, and a two-tone B with factory red-dot. All were excellent guns, and I kept the SA. I've replaced the original plastic trigger with the adjustable metal unit from the champion, and put on some CZ produced wood grips. GREAT shooter, very accurate and points well.

I don't know how things fit into the rules for each game but there's always the
Tac Sport
IPSC Standard
I think the TS might have replaced the IPSC model.
Tanfoglio also makes some nice race guns. EAA sucks, but... the pistols are still worth considering.

Thanks all.
Yep, did some calling around today, seems to be discontinued (the 9x19) ... sure would be nice if CZ would update their dang website. This is like the 3rd weapon as of late I've been drooling over, only to find it's been discontinued ...
:fire:
Somebody send me a whambulance, stat! :p
C'est la vie .. I like to tinker anyhow and there's a CZ SA out there somewhere with my name on it :D

CZ USA is a bit quirky. They don't seem to be quite on board with the rapid pace of American capitalism.
