Folks, ya'll gotta admit THR's Moderators are the BEST!

I love reading the Mod's comments when a thread is locked.

Arfin's sense of humor when he shuts down a thread is unmatched! Art's Grammaw is one of a kind and the rest are knowledgable, honest, fair and downright courteous! Gotta love 'em!

Ya done good, Oleg! :D:D:D

See you on The High Road folks! :)

Some of them are a little too quick on the 'lock' button IMO, but all in all, they run a good board. Definitely a few steps above some of the other innernet gun boards.

I agree about the locking to quickly, otherwise they are fine.

This is by far one of the best boards I've seen online and I chalk that up to the Mods dilligence and the majority of the users wanting to keep things "on the high road" so to speak...so Thanks mods!

[QUOTE][Sarcasm, or not?/QUOTE]

Certainly NOT!

I love seeing these guys work. A thread only gets locked when necessary in my opinion. And I do love reading their justifications, too!

Unless this thread moved to the moderation of gun locks really fast, it's going to get locked by the mods you admire so much, and rightly so.

Kind of ironic if you think about it... :D

They lock way too quicky. An abundance of speech should be looked at as a good thing.

For anybody who complains about too-quick-to-lock, let me tell you, I am all to familiar with the other side of this.

When it comes to internet discussion boards, too-quick is much preferable to the alternative.

From what I've seen here, the mods only ask that you be courteous (or at least civil), and you stay on topic. Seems like a fair and intelligent standard to me.

A high signal to noise ratio should be look at as a good thing. Much of the abundance of speech you are praising is merely noise.

I love the mods too! They are so [edited for language] great and they only lock a thread when they [edited for language] need to in order to keep the thread where it needs to be. Just yesterday, I was [edited for content] and I am so grateful for everything they do. Also, I remember this one picture that was posted awhile ago:

[picture not allowed due to graphic content]

Don't you agree? Great pic.

All complaints about moderators must be made on the third thursday of the month.

All violators will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.

They lock way too quicky. An abundance of intelligent* speech should be looked at as a good thing.

Moderators don't enjoy disciplining Members any more than Parents enjoy disciplining kids. Members can make the Moderators jobs a lot easier, by treating other members the way they like to be treated. On a Board the size of this one the Moderators and Members both have to work at making it good, in order to have a good Board. :)

Aww ain't that just the cutest thing?

Do a very good job. Especially when you consider that unlike a lot of other sites, we have no adds, and the mods work on a voulenteer basis.

Wow, this must been a lucrative thread. Oooops, I mean...

Doc whispers...Pssst...Poper...Pooooper

How much did you get from the Mods for saying those nice things?

Doc passes Poper a nickle...

Go post something nice about me too.

In all seriousness, the mods keep us on THR. Thanks and bless them all.

I'll second the sentiment that quick locks are a Very Good Thing compared to the alternative.

There are very few forums I can stand, whatever the subject matter may be (and it drives me nuts trying to find good ones) because the moderation is so lax that only the most patently offensive stuff gets wiped - and one is still left with a board full of fanboy whining, flamewars over nothing, 12-year-old kids acting their age, WECSOG-esque advice on anything from hard drives to headlights, and all the other various detritus that falls so inexorably upon internet forums like marine snow.

I've always been a fan of the "forum nazi" approach - it works, and that's all I care about. I like my boards clean, civil and keenly aware that the Banhammer of Thor is ever-present. ;) Keeps the riff-raff out and the "normal" users know that all is good so long as they follow a few simple rules.

Doc2005,
I was actually following a thread fairly closely that was doomed from the start. Arfin locked it with such good humor I could not resist thanking him! Then I got to thinking. He was actually very representative of THR's Mods as a whole. You have to admit, THR's Mods are consistently the best on the gun board forums.

Besides, Arfin offered to buy the beer if I ever made it to his neighborhood! ;) I'll say almost ANYthing for a James Boag's! :D

JUST KIDDING, Arfin! :evil::evil:

Psssssssst! By the way, have you heard how wonderful Doc2005 is........?

 Yeah, I've heard that. I think I told myself that. :D

You are right. The Mods do a greta job. I spend literally 99.9% of my forum time at THR. At all other forums combined I doubt I have 20 posts in the past 2 years.

The mods help to keep this one of the best forums to visit and post on, they have my respect and appreciation for keeping the high road THE best general firearms forum on the net.
Thanks guys and gals who moderate and to all members who make this what it is.;)

I saw this thread just as I was about to make a new thread down here to say "Thank you!" to the mods for the active moderating in adherence to the stated rules.

Thank's mods!

Many of you have said they LOCK TOO FAST......I have seen some get locked rather quikly BUT.....I have also seen them be VERY patient with many of the threads.
The Mods on THR are TOP SHELF.....

Just wanted to add my support to the THR mods.

I don't often agree with them, but at least they are much more fair-handed than mods at other smaller, more specific gun brand oriented websites.

I appreciate them putting up with the many courses a thread can take and aren't quick to delete posts willy nilly whenever they feel like it, especially when it might be someone pointing out where they were wrong.

The general level of courtesy and respect here on THR, as well as the professionalism of its Moderators, has really spoiled me. Other boards' Moderators...coff..SF...coff....well, let's not go there, eh?

I may not agree with them or the locks 100% of the time, but they do a good job...no, great job. If I wanted 100% my way, I'd get my own site.

Thanks for the too often thankless work.
