Here's the deal
I have neen looking for a reasonably priced 160 low wall for years, and there seems to be no such beasty. Just finding any 260 low wall for sale is rare, and they go for way more than I want to pay.
I currently own a nice 223 low wall. Can anyone suggest a smith who can properly rebarrel this to 260? Someone familiar with and specializing in drop blocks.
Thanks

Eric is a talented gunsmith and a rifle builder. He has relined a Win 61 barrel for me and built a 4-position rifle for me, among other projects. I routinely drive 185 miles each way to have him do my routine 'smithing as well.
I do have a 1895 Low Wall, one that was 'customized' in the 1920s, and that's my next rifle project.
I would recommend him unhesitatingly.

He has no web presence, save for something that shows up with 'yellow pages' type software. If you call Tu-Sa, 10-6, you'll probably get him, or at least the tape. Tell him Jim Hanson gave you his name on a forum. He's very busy this time of year, but it should work out OK this winter--

Try Lee Shaver www.egunsmith.com . Lee is a member of our official U.S. Black Powder Shooting Team, an excellent single-shot gunsmith, and manufactures some neat stuff. He does a really good trigger job on the new HiWalls and LoWalls, too.
