I have a scope that pretty much used up all of it's windage on the last rifle it was mounted on. I would like to reset it to it's mechanical zero. How is this done?

Count the number of turns from max high to max low on your adjustement screw. Screw it back half the turns and you are about there.

One way is to use mechanics "V" blocks or something similar. Start with it in the normal position and looking thru the scope at something verticle, line up the windage crosshair. Spin the scope 180 degrees, you'll see it shift off of the line you're looking at. Adjust the windage until there is no more shift when you spin the scope. Then looking at a horizontal line do the same for elevation. I set up on the kitchen table and look at the video shelving unit in the living room. This will get you dead center.
