Hi, i have a Remington 870 Super Mag Express with a new 20" RC Barrel. It is an awesome setup. IPSC shotgun.

I purchased a 5 round mag extension (choate) for it and ijust noticed the mag extension is 6" longer than barrel. Is this okay? I need help asap.

The person that sold it to me said it is fine, but i would like to know from fellow IPSC Shotgun users.

Well.....it will work, but it will also look kind of funny and the muzzle blast will probably remove the finish. For a 20" barrel you need a 2 or 3 shot extension. If you haven't damaged it, you should try to exchange it.

i dont care about the finish or how it looks. I just want it to be safe. I am only using it for IPSC. When hunting / skeet i will remove it.

that's long enough that pellets hitting it may be a problem.

I'd swap it for a 2 shot.
