My greatest preference would be a titanium pen that is tactical (like the Hinderer), but I would also consider a titanium pen that isn't tactical, or a tactical pen made of something other than titanium. I know the Hinderer is nice, but I'm interested in seeing what else is out there. Thanks in advance for any info!!!

I've handled the Timberline and it's very nice.

James Bond, do you have any experience with those? They look pretty nice and I like that you don't have to screw the cap on the back end while you are writing. Thanks!

I don't have one, (but have seen/handeled one at a gun show) they seam like a great litle tool. I prefer a fat bodied metal pen or a hand made wood pen that is also a little on the thick side. You are more likley to stay under the radar, but still could use it to defend your self.

hso, I just found the Timberline Tactical Pen. That looks awesome too. What did you like about it when you handled it? Thanks!

Substantial and comfortable to use as a pen. It is slightly larger than the TDP and fills the hand a bit better. The ink is a German analog to the Fischer Space Pen (I've never had a jot of trouble from my Bullets while I've had nothing but trouble out of my Millennium leaking). It will put a serious dent into plywood. I like being able to thumb cap the cap.

I looked but didn't see any info on what refill it actually takes. Do you know the name of it? Does the manufacturer have a website, or can you only find this at "outlets"? Thanks!

Cold Steel markets a pen called the Sharkie at $5.99. It looks like a Sharpie on steroids and it's made of some kind of super-hard plastic they call Grivory.

The CS is a big ugly thing that I'd be amazed that anyone would want to actually carry. I handled the proto at Blade. It fills the hand, but just won't carry in a pocket easily enough to have with you when you need it.

I've beaten a few trees with various sized sharpies and have not had any shatter on me. Don't think it's necessary to spend $5.99 on CS pens.

Rotring makes several pens that would fit the bill. They are designed as pens, not ast hidden weapons, but hell for solid.

Rotring would work as p35 mentioned ,

I also carry a Lamy Swift , as it is a pen with heft :)

One of the Elishewitz designed Mil-Tac pens is on my want list. :)

Tom Anderson also made some nice Titanium pens , not sure if he is still making them.
