I saw this scope in the store today for around $200 dollars. I was wondering if it would be a good buy as opposed to say a 4-12x variable? It will be used for bench rest shooting and varmint hunting. I have always used variable power scopes in the past but this one looks solid.

This scope is one of the good buys out there for a low cost scope. I have two of them. The glass is nice and clear and the reticle is nice and crisp. The clicks on the knobs are nice for the money too. Does this scope equal an $800+ Leopold? Not at all but for $200 I would say it is the best scope for the money and would put it on par with the Super Sniper scopes.

For varmint hunting, I'd opt for a variable. Nothing wrong with the Bushnell, but I'd rather have a variable for small critters.
