Deal on P90?

I found a Ruger P90 in a shop for $290, it is the stainless version and looks brand new. The salesman showed me the mags and the stickers weren't even scratched. Does this sound like a good deal, or should I hold off? I prefer the matte blue gun, and was planning on buying a new one next month, but I could live with the stainless. Were there any problems with the earlier production guns, or are they all reliable and accurate?
Thanks,
Brad

A stainless Ruger for less than $300 is a good price. I don't know of any issues with P90s but you could ask on Ruger Forums:

Just be sure it has the kind of safety/decocker you want since replacing it would require replacing the whole slide.

The Ruger P90's are a very good gun. Sounds like a great deal to me. :)

Buy it and quickly. Excellent weapon and that's a great price. Do the magazines have plastic followers or steel? That will tell you whether they are 7 or 8 rounds and roughly when the gun was originally sold. Earlier models had 7 round mags with plastic followers. Even if it is an earlier gun it will take the 8 round mags.

If I walked into a gunshop and saw a kp90 for 290 in good condition with more than one mag, it would be mine in a heartbeat.
If you pass this up you will regret it latter.

Also as to blued v. stainless....
The stainless will hold it's value and it's appearance longer. Bluing wears especially if carried. I can show you a pic of what my blued P89 looks like after 12 years if you like :).

If a P90's what you want, that's a real good price.

That's how I felt about the stainless KP97DC I picked up a few weeks ago. It was 290.00

My KP90DC is one of my favorite pistols. I picked it up ANIB for less than $300, but that was several years ago. I haven't seen one for less than $300 since.
You don't say where you are, but in my area one can easily get their money back or even make money on a deal like that.
