The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing(tho not too much!),and I had a Stag AR lefty, a Savage lefty bolt .223, a 625 S&W .45 and a Ruger .22 Competition MK 2 that needed shot. The Stag is ready for 3-gun next month, the 625 still shoots better than I do, the Mark 2 still kills pop cans real well. But the high point of the day was the Savage .223. Best 3 shot group of the afternoon was an honest to God 1/2" at a measured 110 yards. Worst group was just over an inch. Not too shabby for a sporter weight rifle! All in all a dandy way to spend a day off!!

Sounds like fun. :)
I've been trying to squeeze a day off myself to do the very same thing. Hopefully, I'll have just as much luck on paper.

My Savage in .223 is the same way. It will get some pretty nice groups even with cheap bulk ammo. I was shooting an old paint can (spray paint) the other day and shot it 5 times from 130 yards. It was so small in the scope I couldn't tell if I hit it or not til I got out to it.
It's been 81 degrees here with minimal wind. I'll be shooting all weekend if I can. :)
